Current obsession!

So as many of my posts explain my love of the great city of Chicago.....We have been looking at apartments in the city and furniture online to fill that apartment once we get back to Chi Town!

So that leads up to my current obsession....IKEA!
After a trip to IKEA we (the hubby and I) fell in love with the store and the ideas of how to manage life in small spaces. Because lets be very honest....if you live in the city you know there is a serious space issue. I could never let that sway my desire to live in Chicago, it just to great of a city.
So IKEA is the way to go.

Its time to get serious!

So some may think I'm crazy, nuts or just plain losing my mind and hell maybe I am....but the truth is I'm so freakin unhappy it's not funny.

I'm not one of those people that other's look at with that thought of "Man she has it all!!!" Nope that's not me at all.
I'm not where I wanted to be in life. Sure I have all the things that I have ever wanted....with one little exception! I have the great husband and kids hell I even have a great dog....but that exception that I was talking about....yup it's where I have my roots.....?....

Most people have this thing about living near family and having roots you know being grounded. Trust me I love my family and I have the best friends but still there is that longing for something more... something that I once had and let go....

For most of the past 30 something years I have lived in a small town (and I mean small)I longed for somthing more, something exciting....and well my great husband made that happen. He gave up everything and moved us to Chicago, I was thrilled....but of course like most girls missed my mom and my family and friends. So after a year he moved me back to Michigan ... now lets be clear most of that year that we lived in Chicago we spent still in Michigan do to random things that heald us up.


Once we were moved back to MI I knew that I had made the biggest mistake of my life... :( I started to fall into this deep hole that was empty. It was like a death ! You have no idea I just felt so empty. Of course I told my hubby nothing was wrong, after all he moved me back home. Thats what I wanted right????? NOPE ! Each day since I have been sad, mad, pissed right off.
Its like that saying "You don't know what you got till it's gone" so true.

So as this could go on and on.....

It's time to get serious~ I graduated from school and have an interview in just a couple days! I have one year, we have one year. Thats the goal! We are moving back to Chicago for good!!!!

Its Happened! FINALLY

Well its finally happened. I have spent the last 2 and a half years in college....and finally IM DONE!!!!!!!!!!! I GRADUATED! I honestly didn't think it would happen.
I went on the grade book site and had no nerves, I was just looking. I had no idea they would post grades so soon. So when they did I was shocked!!! NO really I was shocked...it was so over whelming I cried. I couldn't help it. My husband and kids were so happy for me.

You see this is more then just an education.... this is hugh! I have always been proud of my kids and husband but for them to be proud of me for something more then just mom and wife things is an awesome feeling.

Ta Ta Dolls!

I can smell it in the air...

I woke up early today, earlier than normal, the alarm had not yet went off but there I was.....wide awake! But I wasn't alone my husband was awake too. It was a special morning.....why you wonder?????? Today is the first day that we went outside and there it was....the faint smell of what happens to be our favorite time.....FALL!

You could smell the crispness in the air, many because it rained last night or maybe because its a cool 63* outside. No matter what the reason it was there and we could smell it.

I think fall offers a gateway to the past. This is the time when I think back about all the first days of school with our kids, and begin to think and laugh about all those Halloweens past, and how cute they looked. Wow does time ever fly. But fall for me also offer a gateway to the future. Like this fall our youngest son will start the 8th grade and my oldest baby will be start his last year of high school.....as I type the tears fall.
I can't believe we are already here....at this point....his last first day is fast approaching...and Im sad!
This blog post wasn't even meant to bring out all of these emotions but here they are!
My babies are growing up and Im not ready.....

WOW so with all that said its a bit of a sappy time for me I guess. What does Fall mean to you??????
(I guess for me it means more than just apples, pumpkins, crisp air and fall fashion....)

My Fall Fashion trends that are timeless!

It's almost time!!!! Its coming fast and boy am I excited!
Fall brings so many fashion trends and its a great time to try out something new, like new nail color that you might not have otherwise thought you would like or be bold and change your haircut and/or style.

There are so many things that are going to be in this fall season! Things like Cardigans seem to be big and in loads of styles...
I've seen printed to Military inspired to cropped and belted. A cardigan is timeless and can take you through more than just the fall seasons.

Tunics are big this season as well, still keeping them paired with a great pair of jeggings and booties are perfect!

And as far as Im concerned you can't ever go wrong with dark washed well tailored jeans!

Now for hair trends Im loving is the short pixie cuts (loving the dark hair) and the long flowing waves, and even the messy braids are back and big (they were big back in the 80's too)

Nails are a big trend as well. Im so thrilled that nail polish colors and styles are becoming so much more....its really more like accessories! FABULOUS!

There are so many options, my best advise to everyone is just wear what you love, trends come and go ! Dont spend tons of money on high end brands, just buy what you buy and love what you love ! That's fashion and that's what makes all of us different and amazing!

Summer so far~and~Fall is my friend

Let me tell you Summer and I are not the closest of friends and never have been. Everyone else has a right to love the season, its just not my fav~
And here's why....

I have no desire, nor do I think its "HOT" when my hair looks like a birds nest....humidity you suck!!!

I don't think its pretty to have your face melting off, sorry but no one looks all that nice when they are shiney and sweaty!!!

And lastly Sweating is gross. I am just not a fan of it!

Now Fall on the other hand we are best friends~!!!! We have had a great relationship for many years.
I love sweaters with big buttons, dark wash jeans, my Dansko's, and cute cropped pants and little jackets!Oh and the smell of apples, and pumpkins
Love the start of the holiday season!!!!
I love the fact that there is no sweating involved in our relationship!!!! Fall offers a wide range of outdoor activities with family and friends. Nothing better then sitting on a roof-top deck in Chicago in the fall! OK OK a glass of wine would really set the mood too!

So as I sit here in bed not looking forward to facing yet another hot, sticky, sweaty, humid day (I have A/C but still) I ponder what to do on a day like today....Dream of Fall!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Its done!!!!

So per my last post I did it....Im a brunette again! Im thrilled with the results! I have yet to get the pixi cut but Im thinking strongly about it. I think I have reservations about it because Im afraid I will look like a man. LOL !!!!

Im not sure if I can pull it off! But we will have to wait and see if I can mustard up the courage to CUT CUT CUT ! So that will be another thing I will be pondering over the next few days.

To dye it or not to dye it????

Okay so I change my hair color lets just say more often then most....way more often! 
I have went throught the painful process of getting my hair from very dark to blonde and as much as I was thrilled to finally get it the color I thought I wanted. (*thought being the key word there*)
I have since found myself dying to dye it dark again.
So the question is this do I dye it now.... or wait until it gets a bit closer to fall????? No matter what anyone says,  I have to say I will more than likely dye it anyways lol!

I have really been feeling the dark hair as well as the pixi cut but Im very scared to take that leap and go that short......

Oh but how I love this look!!!!

First Blog~~~

Ok so I am new to the blogging world....I know right have I been living under a rock or something. I mean serious!!!!
So lets see....let me give you a little insight to what you will find here....
First I will do my best to post blogs on a regular basis, cause its important ! ;)
I will post things like makup looks, maybe outfits from time to time (but lets be real I love to shop at Old Navy so theres nothing real exciting there), I will post video links to my youtube channel and links to other channels that I feel are worth your time to check into!
